Associated Air Balance Council Commissioning Group
Description
The Associated Air Balance Council (AABC) has administered a successful commissioning certification program for Test and Balance Engineers. The AABC Commissioning Group (ACG) was established in 2004 as a separate non-profit association dedicated to advancing professional, independent commissioning services through education, training, and certification of qualified providers.
Through a detailed application and examination process, the CxA designation is awarded to successful candidates, providing a meaningful commissioning credential so that owners can be confident when selecting a qualified provider.
CxA qualifications are focused on HVAC and control systems. With respect to the commissioning of electrical and other systems, the CxA may or may not have the expertise on staff but will often team with other professionals to address all systems being commissioned.
Requirements
Candidates for certification must be a registered architect (AIA), or a licensed professional engineer (P.E.), or a certified Test and Balance Engineer (TBE).
